Maracajau Beach

The beach in northeastern Brazil which I sometimes call home. A jangada, the traditional fishing boat, is landing in the distance.

What a beautiful beach to walk ... it looks like it goes on and on. I can see the men with logs, getting ready to help beach the jangada. ... Do you ever have hurricanes in that area, Michael? We see Caribbean weather forecast, but not south of that.

@Judy aka L@dybug: Yes, the beach does go on forever. I believe Brazil has one of the largest stretches of beach in the world. This area just south of the equator is quite hurricane free. However there have been minor earthquakes in the area. Thanks, Judy.

I understand why you call it home.... it's a beautiful location, I would be on the beach all day - a typical old hippie beach bum. Excellent image Michael.
