Tree of life

Posted by

This 400-year-old acacia tree is known in Bahrain as the Tree of Life. It has grown alone in the middle of the Bahraini desert with no visible source of water since before the Pilgrims went to America. The tree has even exceeded the normal life span of an acacia tree by 300 years. Temperatures where the tree lives can reach upward of 45C and rainfall is a few centimeters a year.. This is the beginning of a three-part series on the tree.
