The lure of wagon wheels

Posted by
Michael Skorulski (Toronto, Canada) on 1 October 2008 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

These wagon wheels are propped up beside an elderly lady's house. I pass them every time I go for water at a mountain stream near our home in Cigel, Slovakia. I don't know how many times I've thought the wheels are only forgotten and should be mine. So I have taken them - in picture form only of course.

Lovely composition and lighting. They do look beautiful - all the more so as they were probably used by their current owner and were not bought in a store as replicas for garden decoration...Maybe the owner would sell them to you...

I am something of a fan of old wooden wheels, something in the symmetry of the spokes, the era they come from, the roads they have travelled. Love this shot, gorgeous tones.
