About Michael Skorulski

I'm a Canadian travel writer and teacher based in Slovakia or Brazil, wherever I happen to be working, living or holidaying at the moment. Sometimes my photography illustrates the stories I write. Other times, I snap pics just for fun and self-expression.

In case you're interested, my blog is named after 14th-century Moroccan traveler, Shams Ibn Battutah. He's like the Marco Polo of the Arab world and traveled for 29 years at a stretch. He wrote a wonderful book
called, The Travels of Ibn Battutah, about his journey from North Africa to China.
