The skyline of Natal taken from Ponta Negra beach. The city is in the northeast of the country. Natal means Christmas in Portuguese because the city was founded on Christmas day, 1599.

I really like the punch of this cityscape, repeated in a softer key in the wet sand. Excellent photography... one can see deep into the beach life and wander around there. Delightful.

When I think of Brazil the first thing that always comes to mind is colour...this shot just proves it. Love the reflections in the sand.

I am touched by all the colors you've captured in Natal and the reflections here are glorious.
Thinking back to 1599, palms may have been there but wouldn't those early settlers be overwhelmed by the high-rise buildings ... and bikinis! <grin>

awesome reflection on a beach which doesn't look overcrowded as much as a tourist would imagine - the image gives you a summer feeling at once while I'm waiting for the German winter over here
