Domes

The domes on the roof of St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, Italy. The Basilica was consecrated in the 11th century to house the body of St. Mark, an associate of Peter the apostle and a writer of one of the books of the Bible. Mark's body was apparently stolen from Alexandria by Venetian merchants in the 9th Century.

That's a magnificent shot across the city, the domes are amazing.

What a view you captured from your high vantage point, and what remarkable domes they are! Are they used for anything other than decoration? It seems there are steps going up to the opening at the lower left.
The roof on which the domes sit has sooooo many levels and angles.......

Absolutely amazing. The domes look so heavy, as if the building couldn't hold them up. This is a fantastic shot. I've never see it from this perspective.
