DomesPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 13 December 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. The domes on the roof of St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, Italy. The Basilica was consecrated in the 11th century to house the body of St. Mark, an associate of Peter the apostle and a writer of one of the books of the Bible. Mark's body was apparently stolen from Alexandria by Venetian merchants in the 9th Century.
