Camel racePosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 30 November 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. A camel race in Saudi Arabia. The camels are ridden by young African boys. The spectators don't just stand and watch the race. They follow the race in their cars as we did. This kicks up a lot of dust and excitement.

A race is 4 miles ( 6 kilometers ). saeed from ahwaz, Irangreat work! the angle is very good i think... nicely done,so interesting 30 Nov 2008 7:24am Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyWow. What a documentary shot, Michael. Everything is so good here: colors, composition... I really like how the dust makes the horizon almost to disappear on the left... 30 Nov 2008 7:48am Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceBeautiful perspective, and the sand wind is impressive. A great journalistic shot. 30 Nov 2008 8:04am Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesI can't imagine how the boys and the cars 'handle' all that dust. The camels must have 'built-in' filtering, but that dust must raise havoc with the cars' engines ... and how about the humans? 30 Nov 2008 10:30am @Judy: All I know is that driving through all that dust and activity was exciting. thanks, Judy. Paul van der Meer from Valkenswaard, NetherlandsWonderful!! great compo and colors! 30 Nov 2008 10:44am Denis from A giant black hole filled with lights, TokelauImpressive ! I know they have it in Australia too. Terry H. from Azle Texas, United StatesWonderful! This is not something you see everyday. Thanks for showing the world things they will never see themselves. i guess that is true for all photos but this one was particularly interesting. i have a fondness for Camels, I don't know why. Maybe because I have alwasy pictured the Three Wise Men traveling by camel to see the Christ Child. 1 Dec 2008 3:21am John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesImpressive picture, great angle and view. Interesting in all respects, like the dust and race track. I love the yellows in this too. 3 Dec 2008 11:07am @Elena Kotrotsou: Many thanks, Elena. |
