Duelling towersPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 25 November 2008 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. The revolving restaurant (right) above the New Bridge in Bratislava, Slovakia backed by its phalanx of 1970's apartment blocks appears ready to assault the stone walls of Bratislava Castle, hundreds of years old.

Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesThe restaurant looks like something from a scifi movie ready to fire a beam at the castle. Nice capture. 25 Nov 2008 5:30am Sien from NetherlandsThis is a spectacular image Michael Grz Sien 25 Nov 2008 5:45am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesLooks like a scene from War of the Worlds. 25 Nov 2008 6:18am Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceTrès bien vu ce combat de géants dans la brume, j'aime beaucoup l'idée. Moi aussi ça me fait penser au film "Le seigneur des anneaux"... 25 Nov 2008 7:24am cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelEven though the restaurant is modern - the mist and the castle remind me of all the scary Eastern European fairy tales I read as a kid. I'd love to go to that restaurant....I bet it's quite an experience. 25 Nov 2008 8:46am MaryP from Aberdeenshire, United KingdomPersonally, give me the Old building every time. Far more character, not to mention history. The restaurant looks like something out of 'War of the Worlds'. I enjoy a good SciFi movie but i really think architects push their luck sometimes. 25 Nov 2008 8:55am Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesA wonderful capture of architecture at its best: both new and old! 25 Nov 2008 10:21am Rui from Leiria, PortugalFantastic image Michael. The mist (?) creates a mysterious atmosphere. That round restaurant remind me the alien tripod spaceships from "The War of the Worlds" from H.G. Wells. 25 Nov 2008 10:24am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainVery well seen, you take us to a medieval war image :) 25 Nov 2008 10:51am SKHallisey from Montreal, Canadagreat shot, i love places like that where the new intercedes the old intercedes the neither. well done 25 Nov 2008 11:00am MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomDramatic and moody, has a real sci fi feel. 25 Nov 2008 12:05pm Tracey from White Hall, United StatesWow! Nice shot! 25 Nov 2008 1:23pm Alphons from Kaatsheuvel, NetherlandsHumoristic picture with the contrast between the two towers. But also the suggestion of rivalling. 25 Nov 2008 2:19pm Daryl from Amagasaki, JapanHow surreal! The mist really adds to the scene.
