Pompeii perilous

A street in Pompeii, Italy which was wiped out by volcano, Mount Vesuvius in the first century A.D. The volcano, seen at the end of the street, is still active and threatens much of Naples, sprawled out on its lower slopes.

The contrast between the peaceful shot and the threat of the volcano - and the knowledge of what it was able to do previously - is very strong. I like the framing a lot.
