Dates of BahrainPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 24 September 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. My friend, Paul and I were driving around the backroads of Bahrain looking for the 16th century Portuguese fort. We stopped to take a shot of these dates ripening on the tree. Dates from the island have been famous for five thousand years--as far back as when the island was the center of the mysterious Dilmon civilization which traded with Mesopotamia.
