For the love of liliesPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 17 July 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. New lilies opened in our garden and their perfume is so strong it is almost overpowering. I tried to make the images of a size so that all three can be seen on the screen at once. I work on a smallish laptop so may have misjudged.

Makes me look forward to spring. I love your colour image of this, beautiful tones Michael! 17 Jul 2008 5:50am @Kylie Greenan: Thanks so much, Kylie. It was the perfume that attracted me. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWhat a splendid trio, very wise of you...why didn't I do that with today's photo (my guy with no cigarette) it would have been so much simpler (you'll have to read the response to your comment to my blog to understand lol) 17 Jul 2008 8:20am @Lorraine: Thanks, Lorraine. Yes, it isn't always easy to decide what to post. Sometimes it is a choice between quality and effect. @Ana Lúcia: Thank you, Ana Lúcia. @Veronelle: Thank you, Veronelle. April from Iloilo City, Philippinesnice composition...i love the combination of b&W and colored photos...you did a great job! 17 Jul 2008 3:05pm @April: Thanks, April. Actually these are not genuine b/w conversions but colors have only been desaturated and lightened in Photoshop. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaMy laptop screen is just big enough to see the entire group if I do the F11 trick. 17 Jul 2008 3:06pm @Michael Rawluk: Thanks, Michael. I can only see two even with F11 but I assume most desk tops will have no trouble seeing all together. Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesI'm happy you used all three; it offers us the beauty of each one. The color one stands out, but the B&W images are quietly dramatic in their own soft way. 17 Jul 2008 3:21pm @Judy: You have expressed the effect I was hoping for very well. Thank you, Judy. dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United StatesMichael -- you are just pulling out all stops! :) i love the vertical triptych format -- my preference is also for the color shot -- but i do appreciate the faded black and white photos as a pattern forming base -- a wonderful and creative presentation. bravo! 17 Jul 2008 5:55pm @dj.tigersprout: Thank you, Jaycee.
