Porter - Tatra Mountains, SlovakiaPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 3 June 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. These guys pick their way up steep trails with huge loads on their backs. They head straight up on routes I wouldn't even attempt carrying nothing. In winter, I've watched them plod their way up slippery inclines past trekkers skidding down on their behinds. They haul the food and kegs of beer that trekkers will enjoy in the hut at the top of the mountain. My admiration for them is boundless.

Certainly tourists wouldn't have anything to eat or drink up top without him. Thank you, MS. Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaWow, impressive. Look at his legs, so muscled and toned. Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceUne sorte de sherpa d'Europe. On sent ici sa concentration pour gravir ce chemin en forte pente avec cette charge J'en ai vu aussi au Pérou qui portaient le lourd matériel des touristes qui se rendaient au Macchu Picchu.
