Water babyPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 4 April 2008 in Art & Design and Portfolio. A detail from the Ganymede Fountain (built in 1888) outside the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava, Slovakia. I climbed into the fountain to take the photo. Luckily the fountain is unused in the colder months and there was no water. And no policeman to tell me to get out!

Rhys from Darlington, United KingdomA great shot. I can see similarities between this and your shots from London a few weeks back (the street 'statues'). This (real) statue looks rather melancholy, yet the clarity that you have captured in the metal surface combined with her distant gaze adds a still, serene beauty. I like it. 4 Apr 2008 5:34am @Rhys: Thank you, Rhys. That's a thoughtful comment and I appreciate it! @e.: thank you, e. @Ana Lúcia: Many thanks. @Rajesh Dhankhar: Thank you, Rajesh. Grazie. Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesGoing backwards, many lovely shots, as always. And you've got quite a big following. I don't know how you're able to respond to so many comments. I get ten comments for a couple days running and I'm almost overwhelmed. 28 May 2008 2:02pm @Twelvebit: Thanks, 12bit. Sometimes responding seems like a chore but I wade in and get to work. I often then only comment on people's work I really like rather than just to be sociable. I hope people do the same for me and don't simply comment because I have commented on their work. |
