this has to be my favourite shot of your flower series so far. the back-lighting is superb. this is a great study of a flower from a point of view that most people don't consider looking at. maybe I will go about looking at the backs of flowers more often now!

It is the translucence. I stared at the shot trying to figure out why I liked it so much and I think that is it. And the composition with the dark base and light top. And the tones. Oh, everything.

@Andres Abon: Thank you, Andres. Yes, these days you can do a lot with a P&S. They have lots of option settings. The Optio from Pentax is an especially good one. Also the processing is just as important as the camera.

@Lorraine: Merci, Lorraine. Le compliment semble encore plus gentil en français. Je ne sais pas vraiment le français bien mais je sais assez pour vérifier si Babel Fish fait vraiment un désordre hors de la traduction.
Quand je suis allée sur le site hier soir, ça ne fonctionnait pas... Beaucoup de douceur et de délicatesse dans cette photo. J'aime bien la transparence qui laisse deviner la texture des pétales.
