Crocus with a beePosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 17 March 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. My contribution to spring cheer. When I took this, there were so many bees flying around from the hives next door, I was ready to run.

Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaAfter today's snow and cold temperatures, your contribution is very welcome. 17 Mar 2008 5:18am @Michael Rawluk: Thanks so much, Michael. @dpm: When they are busy, they don't sting. Thanks, dpm. pLusOne from Cheonan, South Koreait seems to me that you focused on the flower not a bee. but overall it's beautiful shot. 17 Mar 2008 5:58am @pLusOne: Thank you, P1. drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomThis is a fantastic capture Michael, I'm glad you braved the bees =D) dan 17 Mar 2008 6:05am @drphoto: Thank you so much, Dan. Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaExcellent colors and nice closeup! Interesting flower too. Like the details of the bee's wings and the black hairs on his head... looks like he had a bad hairday "-) 17 Mar 2008 7:01am @Ina: Thanks, Ina. He certainly looks like he needs a new hairdresser. I'm glad you could pick out those details because the focus of the bee was a bit of a problem and I'm still not completely happy with it. Kleos from Pune, IndiaVery scary and yet quite pleasing. In a way makes me feel glad I have never seen a bee up close... i.e. till today and now 17 Mar 2008 7:07am @Kleos: They are actually very useful insects and only rarely sting anyone. Thanks so much, Kleos. @Ana Lúcia: That's a great comment. Thank you, Ana Lúcia. @Paola Veneziani: Thank you, Paola. Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceLe crocus est en France la première fleur du printemps à sortir de terre. Et on voit aussi sur ta photo que ses petites feuilles vert tendre percent un tapis de feuilles mortes comme un symbole de la renaissance de la nature. Et l'abeille s'accroche au pistil de la fleur comme pour ne plus la quitter... Très bonne composition et couleurs éclatantes. 17 Mar 2008 9:19am @Evelyne Dubos: Un excellent commentaire. Merci, Evelyn. @Betty: Thank you, Betty. @TILALA: Yes. Very much so. Thank you, Marie. @Viewfinder: Thank you, VF.
