Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaWhaaaoo, I'm sure the tree has great stories to tell! 16 Mar 2008 8:52am @Ina: Thank you so much, Ina. Your comment was excellent. Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful monochrome, Michael. Outstanding texture and tones and composition. And once again, you've enlightened my day with the linden tree (I've never seen one before). The derivation of my surname (Lindsey) has its roots in some way connected to the linden tree. I'm not a student of genealogy, but someone with the same last name once shared with me that tidbit of information. Thanks! 16 Mar 2008 9:39am @Ron: Thank you, Ron for sharing that excellent comment about your name. The linden is a very highly regarded tree in Slovakia and the one pictured here is only eclipsed in age by one at the local Bojnice Castle. However there, they have done a terrible job of lopping off most of the tree's height, leaving a bizarre stump with thin branches shooting out from it. Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomThat's a really great B&W shot with lovely contrasting textures and tones! 16 Mar 2008 10:12am @Ian Bramham: Thank you, Ian. Perhaps I'll post that sometime. tyan from Singapore, Singaporevery lovely,i love it b/w,perhaps because i havent seen the coloured one,but the angle, looking up,with the sky and clouds as background really give this whole image a very grand and beautiful look.:) 16 Mar 2008 3:51pm @tyan: Thank you so much, Tyan.
