Fun with fungusPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 27 February 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. This photo was taken by my 15-year-old daughter, Kika. She took my camera off me while I was photographing fungus and said she could take a better picture. She was right. When I was choosing the best photo of fungus to put on the blog it turned out to be by Kika.

Rags from Plano, United StatesKika, you took an awesome image. Your angle is really original and adds a lot of character to the shot. Keep up the good work. 27 Feb 2008 5:41am @Rags: On behalf of Kika. thank you. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanVery good angle here! You've got to buy her a camera, it is never too early! (I wish I had a camera when I was a teenager and someone to open my eyes at what you can do with it! My life might have taken a different route!) 27 Feb 2008 5:53am @Japanalia: Thanks, Gabriela. Actually Kika has two cameras which she has been using very well for a few years. She sometimes comes with me when I shoot photos for stories and often comes up with better ideas and angles. This use of my camera here was a spur of the moment impulse. Rhys from Darlington, United KingdomShe'll be hooked now! You are going to have spend money! Your daughter has a good eye for a shot. 27 Feb 2008 6:24am @Rhys: Thanks, Rhys. I agree. I once told Kika she was developing a good eye for a photo. She told me: "What do you mean developing! I already have a good eye." tyan from Singapore, Singaporeseems like your talent in photography has rubbed off on her,or maybe it was already in the genes,LOL.Lovely indeed,i think i couldnt hold a camera properly when i was kika's age.The layers in colours and textures on the fungus is really fascinating:) 27 Feb 2008 6:32am @tyan: Thanks, Tyan.
