GushPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 22 February 2008 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. We get our drinking water at a mountain spring about a kilometer from our house in Cigel, Slovakia. This is what happens if we leave the jug too long.

Photographs by M.E. from Encino, United StatesFrozen fresh! Excellent 22 Feb 2008 6:45am @Mandy: Thank you so much, Mandy. @Ina: Thank you, Ina. dpm from Maale, Maldiveswonderful to have fresh water, what about that pipe shouldn't someone change it 22 Feb 2008 7:47am @dpm: Perhaps. But the water is tested regularly and it is excellent. Thank you. @Fotoptikon: Thank you. I appreciate that. @Bleak GardeN: Thank you so much. @Saeed: Thank you, Saeed. vu@granby - gilles daigneault from Granby, Québec, CanadaNice shot... gilles d. 22 Feb 2008 9:42am @vu@granby - gilles daigneault: Well thanks so much, Gilles. martie from Okinawa, JapanFantastic shot of the water! I bet it tastes wonderful! 22 Feb 2008 9:44am @martie: It certainly is fresh and much better tasting than our tap water. Thanks, Martie. Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThere is nothing better than clean fresh mountain water. Top shot, love the action in this simple act of collecting water, well done. 22 Feb 2008 12:27pm @Richard_Irwin: Thank you, Richard. Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWow! You've caught a gusher, in the act of gushing. Really neat pic Michael. 22 Feb 2008 12:29pm @Viewfinder: Thank you, VF. I like your comment. MJ from Delaware, United StatesGreat picture... we pay for spring water and you just have to walk and get it... The shot is wonderful the snow the leaves and the water.... 22 Feb 2008 12:33pm @MJ: It is one of my pleasures to go and get the water. Thank you, MJ. Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomGosh your gush is great, did you use a flash with this 22 Feb 2008 1:10pm @Peter Miller: Thanks, Peter. I used a tripod and set my point and shoot to landscape or night for a rather long exposure. But I turned off the flash. Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesCool... Literally. I wouldn't mind having a slug of that spring water either. 22 Feb 2008 1:42pm @Earnest: Thank you, Earnest. Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesGood capture! And I bet you won't find an over-abundance of fluoride in the water which, as you know, is what dentists have been noting with bottled water. Seeing the snow in the background tells me how cold the water must be, which I love. I also had the same concern as dpm regarding the pipe's condition. 22 Feb 2008 1:57pm @Steven: I've been drinking water from there for many years with no ill effects. So, the pipe which has been forced under a rock to catch the flow, whether rusty or not, doesn't seem to matter. Thanks, Steven. @alla: Thanks, Alla. Only frozen in time. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWhat an amazing find...you took this magnificently Michael, actually you take everything magnificently, but you know lol 22 Feb 2008 2:29pm @Lorraine: That's a nice compliment. Thank you, Lorraine. My main worry here were the water droplets flying onto the camera. So I kept having to move the tripod back. @Craiger: An apt comment. Many thanks, Craiger. Thank you, Frankie. amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaCool shot, Michael... pun somewhat intended.. hee hee... You've captured that gushing wonderfully! Question: The water you get at your home is that poor? Do you cook with this water as well? 23 Feb 2008 12:37am @amy: Thanks, Amy. The water we get at home is fine and drinkable. It is also spring water. It just has a slight plastic taste from our house piping which we don't like. We cook with the house water. Oswegan from Lake Oswego, United StatesVery cool. You don't need to filter it? What about giardia? 23 Feb 2008 4:30am @Oswegan: We don't filter it. The water comes out of the ground and isn't contaminated. It is regularly tested. Thank you, Oswegan. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanI like the way water looks here and the jocular effect! 23 Feb 2008 4:08pm @Japanalia: Thank you, Gabriela. |
