Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThe boat is great but I love the bird. He seems to be in command. 13 Feb 2008 5:24am @Michael Rawluk: You're right. Thank you, Michael. e. from New York, NY, United StatesThis photo is so calming somehow. Beautiful. :) 13 Feb 2008 5:36am @e.: Thank you, e. I appreciate that. dpm from malé, MaldivesThai boats have a very vibrant color scheme. Interesting story about the car engine been used on this boat 13 Feb 2008 5:38am @dpm: Many thanks, dpm. the lightwriter from oosterwolde, Netherlandsgreat picture Michael! The contrast between the brightness of the boat and the far-away feel of the moutains is lovely. Also the isolation of the boat, floating "nowhere", i like. From this view it would be even better if you Photoshop the anchorline out of sight. Then, the boat becomes a safe place in the middle of nowhere. 13 Feb 2008 7:20am @the lightwriter: Thank you for the reasoned suggestion, LW. Your analysis was very accurate. martie from Okinawa, JapanWhat a wonderful picture! I love the boat in this and how the water around it reflects the boat, yet everything else is sort of a fog! Beautiful! And the bird - wonder if he calls the boat his home or if he was just visiting! 13 Feb 2008 7:23am @martie: The bird is the captain as Michael mentioned. Thank you so much , Martie. @badala: Thank you so much. tyan from Singapore, SingaporeVery very nice solitary boat on the sea.Very beautiful and soothing to look at:) 13 Feb 2008 7:27am @tyan: Thank you so much, Tyan. Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesIt is a lot of fun to travel Bangkok's klongs in these boats as well! Great shot! 13 Feb 2008 7:44am @Craiger: Thank you, Craiger. I agree. Behrooz Sangani from Tehran, IranI dig the red on the boat against the plain bg. 13 Feb 2008 7:49am @Behrooz Sangani: Thank you for the comment. Jrask from Pasadena, United Statesall your photos are taking me back to my travels this last summer! I miss Thailand...did you make it to a full moon party? 13 Feb 2008 8:22am @Jrask: Thank you, Joshua. I didn't make it to a full-moon party but there was a similar party almost every night at a compound next door. I'm a great fan of Thailand too. The people are so friendly and there is so much to take pictures of. @Dimitrios: That's a nice compliment. Thank you. Jeff from Honolulu, United StatesThis is a terrific photo! The haze sets the boat off to advantage and the bird is a good focal point. Well done. 13 Feb 2008 8:38am @Jeff: Thanks, Jeff, for the very reasoned comment. vu@granby - Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, QC, CanadaThe haze makes air and water blend into one, so it looks like the boat is floating in the air. Taking away the ancor line as suggested would amplify this feeling. On this gray in gray background the colorful boat really pops out, and the crowning touch of course is the bird. Very interesting capture! 13 Feb 2008 10:09am @vu@granby - Wolfgang Prigge: I appreciate the reasoned comment. Thank you. lidia from Barcelona, SpainWery beautiful and romantic photo, the rouge go so well whit these atmorphere misterieux. Un peu de frances, un peu d'angles, mais je seulment conne bien le catalan et le castellano. Excuse-moi. 13 Feb 2008 10:56am @lidia: Gracias, Lidia. Aprecio su comentario agradable. Si usted desea comentar en cualquier lengua, vaya a http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr @Shaahin: Thank you, Shaahin. Steven from Montreal, CanadaA very pleasing and calming photo. I agree with Michael's comment about the bird, godd capture! 13 Feb 2008 11:54am @Steven: Thank you, Steven. Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesYes, this bird must be in command of this boat, as Michael and Steven have also said. What a great capture! 13 Feb 2008 12:10pm @Viewfinder: So be it. Actually I thought the bird was too small to command much attention. Thank you, VF. @Ina: Thank you, Ina. I appreciate that. @Teresa Durães: Thank you, Teresa. @Steven: Thank you. I appreciate your comment. MJ from Delaware, United Statespeaceful beautiful and you even got the bird....great composition 13 Feb 2008 1:14pm @MJ: Thank you, MJ. alla from Toronto, CanadaThis is a lonely boat! Very peaceful image. (I'd like to be there now!) 13 Feb 2008 1:19pm @alla: Could the boat be lonely with a nice bird as captain? But I completely understand the desire to fly away. Thanks, Alla. bm from Budapest, HungaryLook like this boat has lost it's captain :) I like the very muted background, somehow makes the boat stand out and more mysterious. 13 Feb 2008 1:31pm @bm: An excellent comment. Thank you so much. givethemhell from GermanyThe waterworld looks lovely, especially the hazy horizon where it merges into mountains. You cannot draw a line where the water ends and the mountains begin. This looks mystical to me. 13 Feb 2008 3:08pm @givethemhell: Great comment. Thank you. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaI swear I thought it was a cub trying to climb on the boat...got to get my eyes checked again, or brain...A beautiful sense of aloneness, you always come through! 13 Feb 2008 3:13pm @Lorraine: I can see how you might think it was a bear cub instead of a covered engine. Thanks, Lorraine. @Oswegan: Thank you. Tracey from White Hall, United StatesGreat job Michael! The composition is perfect and the contrast between the gloomy environment and the colorful boat is terrific! 13 Feb 2008 4:38pm @Tracey: Thank you, Tracey. @Yasuri: Gracias. @Earnest: Thank you, Earnest. henri from paris, FranceC'est superbe! La lumière filtrée donne de superbes contrastes de couleurs et la photo semble "habitée" même si pourtant c'est une nature morte ;-) 13 Feb 2008 6:53pm @henri: C'est un excellent commentaire. Merci, Henri. @Porcsin: He is probably sleeping. Thank you, Porcsin. Camiller from Lisboa, PortugalExcellent combination of light and colour and I also like the detail of the little lonely navigator. Beautiful photo. 13 Feb 2008 7:28pm @Camiller: Thanks, Camiller. The little captain seems to be a great hit. Frankie from Boxmeer, NetherlandsWow, a great image. I love the soft greys of the water and the mountains against the saturated colors of the boat. 14 Feb 2008 12:08am @Frankie: Thank you, Frankie. I appreciate that. Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesMichael ....... this is a wonderful image. 14 Feb 2008 12:29am @Judy: You are very welcome. And thank you. Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomNice shot, it looks like the boat has been abandoned like the Marie Celeste 14 Feb 2008 12:33am @Peter Miller: Yes, A little like that. Thank you, Peter. @iVahid: Thanks so much. @Nick: Thank you, Nick. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanA wonderful, atmospheric composition! From the lonely boat, chatting with a tiny bird, to the far away hardly underlined hills...everything combines to create beauty, serenity....but also a sense of loss. 14 Feb 2008 3:26pm @Japanalia: That is a wonderful interpretation that I must think about. Thank you, Gabriela. |
