Temple - Bangkok, ThailandPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 12 February 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. This temple is in the Royal Palace compound. A short distance from the gate, I was approached by a Thai man who told me the place was closed for a public holiday. So would I accompany him in a tuk tuk taxi to see another Buddah instead. While I was thinking about it, I noticed visitors were actually going inside. The man was lying about the holiday. It was all part of a scam to have me stop at a gem shop on the way to the Buddah. No doubt, I would be offered valuable gems at a very cheap price. Or so I would be told. It's all part of being a tourist in Bangkok.
