The family makes flutes and sells them at the Saturday craft market on Salt Spring Island near Vancouver Island.

Good shot, did the flutes sound good when they played them?
10 Feb 2008 4:58am
@Richard_Irwin: Like a Peruvian flute. Very nice. Thank you, Richard.
To me this image is like a symbol of FREEDOM...do what you like, live as you like, enjoy one another.....I believe they do not live an encorseted life...like most of us. And.....they look satisfied, at peace with themselves and the world around them. Is it...maybe...the music they make and share?????
10 Feb 2008 5:41am
@Japanalia: Yes, it is the music, their lifestyle, their way of thinking and the beautiful place they live in that leads to a sense of freedom. Thank you for the great comment , Gabriela.

@Mehdi: Thank you, Mehdi.
The thought of being able to make the instrument that makes the music is neat! And to catch him playing the flute as the baby sleeps is "soothing."

@Wolfgang Prigge: Thanks, Wolfgang. The place is so popular these days that the land prices have gone through the roof. There are a lot of grasping real estate people and developers as well.
