The pose - Cigel, SlovakiaPosted by Michael Skorulski (Cigel, Slovakia) on 8 February 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. At a pre-Lenten celebration called fašiangy, Slovaks dress up in national costume to dance, sing and feast before the fasting of Lent. Fašiangy which started in the Middle Ages is similar to Carnival in Venice which takes place around the same time. Our neighbor decided to pose when I snapped his picture.
