Dean Francis from United StatesMichael - Great looking resort with pristine rock arranged around the tidy huts. What a marvel is right. Especially considering some of the devastation from the storms and earthquakes which run through. Looks like teaque wood. Wish I was there right now, though. Dean 3 Feb 2008 5:40am @Dean Francis: Thanks, Dean. Nice to hear from you. It probably is teak. I saw some of the hurricane damage in other places: whole concrete beach roads lifted up and broken by the force of the waves and sand-bagged villages partially destroyed. The people really have to put up with some of the worst storms. givethemhell from GermanyThe shape of the hut is a wonderful contrast to the round crown of the palm tree next to it. Thailand's beaches are pure paradise, aren't they? Your photos make me want to visit them again. 3 Feb 2008 6:51am @givethemhell: Yes, I love the beaches there and the people are lovely. Thank you so much for your nice comment. martie from Okinawa, JapanAnother fantastic shot! I think I like these wooden houses best - especially the carved trim work. I also like the clothes line across the front. Looks like heaven! Wonderful composition. 3 Feb 2008 8:38am @martie: Thanks, Martie. I'm glad you like it. Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThats the place to be, especially when seeing it from the perspective of a cold February morning over here.
