Thank you, Tyan. dailyphotosofmalé from malé, Maldiveslooks like the view beyond the grass is magnificent. 31 Jan 2008 8:49am @dailyphotosofmalé: You're right. You get only a little tease of it here. Thank you for your comment. @badala: Thank you so much. Steven from Montreal, CanadaThis reminds me of summer at the beach (even though it's snow and not sand), a very pleasing sharp image. 31 Jan 2008 9:28am @Steven: I know what you mean. A sand dune shot. Thanks, Steven. paola veneziani photography from Brescia, Italywow un paesaggio mazzafiato! bella composizione! 31 Jan 2008 9:32am @paola veneziani photography: Grazie mille, Paola. @DaveB: Thanks, Dave. I'm glad you noticed the lighting. martie from Okinawa, JapanBeautiful image. But I'm really glad I'm not there to see it in person! It's 58F here and I am so cold! I really like the lighting in the sky and the shadows in the snow. Beautiful... 31 Jan 2008 10:06am @martie: Thanks, Martie. I actually like the cold weather and snow. But I know a lot of people who don't. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaA glimpse of golden grass amidst your outstanding snow photo! I love it! I've always loved snow, but I have to say I've had it this year :) 31 Jan 2008 10:39am @Lorraine: I guess if I had to be out shoveling it all the time I'd feel the same. But here, snow means sledding down our main road by streetlamp light and snowboarding, which I love. Thanks, Lorraine. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesFantastic composition! Beautiful shot, lovely colors. 31 Jan 2008 11:05am @Betty: Thanks so much, Betty. Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesSo many layers of interest in this photo -- snow, grass, then behind is that exanse of land or water (not sure), then rising upwards are the mountains, then above and behind them the clouds and sky. Wonderful! 31 Jan 2008 12:17pm @Viewfinder: Wow. You noticed so much, VF. Excellent comment. Thank you. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanI like the soft background against which the yellow snowed on yellow grasses create a poetic image. Only a poem is missing! 31 Jan 2008 12:53pm @Japanalia: That's a lovely comment, Gabriela. Thank you so much. Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesThe struggle to stay alive. I love the "depth" presented in this capture. 31 Jan 2008 1:43pm @Steven: Interesting interpretation. Thank you, Steven. Wolfgang Prigge from CanadaIs this near Cigel? It looks a bit like our area, a transition zone between the St. Lawrence Lowlands and the Appalachian Mountain Range. I'm no specialist on that, but I think the Appalachian Mountains were formed around the same time as the mountains in Slovakia. I like your composition here, and the air seems to be crisp and invigorating... 31 Jan 2008 2:03pm @Wolfgang Prigge: Yes, this is about half a kilometer from Cigel. I don't know when the mountains here were formed either but they are coal bearing if that helps. The air has gotten considerably better since EU membership because filters have been fitted to a coal burning power plant and chemical factory nearby. Thanks for your thought-provoking comment, Wolfgang. @Hoopand: I would say. Thanks. @Reza: And is. Thanks. pedro alexandre from loures, Portugalbbrrrrr! nice freezing moment, i like snow. 31 Jan 2008 5:39pm @pedro alexandre: I agree. Snow is beautiful. Thanks for the comment, Pedro. @Craiger: I appreciate that. We feel like touching it 31 Jan 2008 9:02pm @standley: Thank you so much, Standley. amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaYou just can't beat winter pastels... (mind you I am sick of winter/cold/boots/mittens/scarfs/toques et al) Absolutely lovely, Michael! 31 Jan 2008 9:49pm @amy: I appreciate that. Thank you, Amy. @Cathie et Michel: A kind comment. Thank you Porcsin from Debrecen, HungaryBeautiful calm shot! It looks good, that the grass growing out from the snow! 31 Jan 2008 10:37pm @Porcsin: Great comment. Thank you. @Brites: Thank you, Brites. @The Oswegan: Thank you. I appreciate that. @Tali: Thank you so much, Tali. rayts from Quezon City, Philippinesthis is something i don't see everyday from where i come from (the snow at least). simply put, i like how you chose the angle, enough emphasis on the background (to give us a better view of the place) without compromising enough space for the subject. 1 Feb 2008 3:18am @rayts: A good analysis. Thank you, Rayts. alla from Toronto, CanadaToday we finally got some snow here, maybe I'll shoot some on the weekend! Thanks for inspiring :) 1 Feb 2008 4:40pm @alla: A pleasure. Thanks, Alla. |
