About Michael Skorulski

Michael Skorulski

I'm a Canadian travel writer based in Slovakia who has wandered and worked in the Middle East and Europe. My photography illustrates the stories I write.

In case you're interested, my blog is named after 14th-century Moroccan traveler, Shams Ibn Battutah. He's like the Marco Polo of the Arab world and traveled for 29 years at a stretch. He wrote a wonderful book
called, The Travels of Ibn Battutah, about his journey from North Africa to China.
